Help Center How do I take my injections?

Your Sunlight medication is given as a once‑weekly subcutaneous injection, which is injected just under the skin.

Step‑by‑Step Overview

  1. Prepare your supplies
Wash your hands thoroughly. Gather your medication vial, a clean needle, and an alcohol swab.
  2. Prepare the injection
Clean the top of the vial with an alcohol swab. As instructed by your provider, draw the prescribed dose into the syringe.
  3. Choose an injection site
Common areas include the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Avoid areas that are bruised, red, or irritated.
  4. Clean and inject
Wipe the injection site with an alcohol swab. Pinch the skin slightly, insert the needle at a 90‑degree angle, and inject the medication slowly.
  5. Dispose of the needle safely
Place the used needle in a sharps container. Never throw loose needles in the trash.

Important Reminders

  • Administer your injections once per week on the same day each week.
  • Rotate injection sites to prevent irritation.
